I went there for the first time on Saturday night with my wife and had a good time. Good beer and food. I had my credit card held for the tab and told the bartender. I was going to pay in cash and don't charge my card. I paid the bill and left a nice tip and she did not offer me a receipt. On Monday I noticed she charged my credit card for the full amount of my tab. I tried calling the place many times and no one answers the phone and you cannot leave a message. I would give you Zero stars for this if it was possible. Potential customers beware! Consider yourself warned.
Update: The manager reached out to me to look into the matter. She was actually the bartender that helped us that evening. Hopefully resolved soon.
Update on the update: Veronica the manager was very helpful. She told me that it was an error and they would be refunding me and it was being processed. This am I received the refund. I appreciate the customer service.
Thank you Veronica. -

I REALLY hope the owners/managers read my review here.
I came here six months ago with my friend who had just moved to the area. I held down a table outside while he went inside to grab beers and order brats for us. Roughly fifteen minutes later (and that's being conservative), he came out with two beers, and told me the brats were going to be brought out to us. Ten minutes turned into twenty, thirty, and finally forty. We tried to no avail to get the attention of the waitress, but she seemed to avoid noticing us every time we would gesture to her. Ended up having to yell to get her attention, and at that point, we just got the check and left.
Cut to last night, I was willing to try the place again. I sat at the bar and my buddy joined me a few minutes later. It took far too long for either of the two bartenders/waitresses to ask us what we wanted to drink. After getting our beers, the two bartenders engaged in EXTREMELY inappropriate conversation with one of their female friends who was sitting at the bar. They kept calling each other names like "f*cking sl*t", "b*tch", and the like. They all talked very loudly about their sex lives and the details of that.
Finally we got the attention of one of the women to order an appetizer. She brought it out with ONE set of silverware, and after asking for a second set, it took her at least 15 minutes to bring it.
Now, I'm not one to berate servers, as I have been both a waiter and a chef, but these two women (I believe their names were Marissa and Danielle) are awful workers. If I owned that establishment and witnessed their behavior, I would have fired them on the spot.
We were not the only ones frustrated with service. Nearly everyone was making comments (loud enough for us and the servers to hear) about how terrible and slow the service was.
This place would be so cool if it had a competent staff. Brews and Brats will not receive my business anytime in the future. -

Pretty good food - service is just ok. Ordered at the bar because he said it would be quicker than waiting for someone to come out and take our order - ok that's weird.
Food was ok - bbq sandwich, greasy spoon type of stuff. This is one of the few places to eat. Not a lot of choice in Hayward. -

We in Hayward running some errands for the day and my husband suggested we check this place out. I guess it used to be a good truck and now an actual restaurant. We went in midday on a Friday and a few people here there were in having lunch and a brew. My husband and I ordered the bbq sampler and decided to sit outside. They have this little area just for their customers. Food came out in about 15 minutes. A lot of meat! Definitely plenty! I'd even say it's enough meat for 3 people! Came with two sides: potato salad and beans. Sauce on the side. The pulled pork was a bit too dry for my tasting. The brisket and the ribs were juicy! And the jalapeño cheese brat we got was perfect! A great spot for a quick bit!

I have been here a couple times now and had food and drinks both times. So far they've have an excellent selection of beer with a very attractive bartender pouring (the same girl was working my second time also). Some of their hard liquor is at a low price. Although the place is kind of small, a lot of people frequent here just for a beer or two. The downside, so far, is their food. I had the pulled pork and brisket (both were dry) and a trio of sausages that were accompanied by a spicy mustard and sweet bbq sauce. We liked the bbq sauce and french fries but the spicy mustard was hotter than wasabi! I don't know which sausages were which but one of them was super spicy as well to which it had me sweating and tearing up. Hopefully I can find something I like on my next visit.
